Watch the sky, The full moon of April 7, is a big one, a super moon, the biggest of 2020. It will be powerful.
A day later on the 8th, The Jewish people celebrate Passover, Pesach.
The story is that God struck ten plagues upon the Egyptians before the Pharaoh would release the Israelite slaves.
The last of the plagues was the death of the Egyptian first-born. The Israelites were instructed to mark the doorposts of their homes with the blood of a slaughtered spring lamb and, upon seeing this, the spirit of the Lord knew to pass over the first-born in these homes.
From a historical point of view, many people tried to pinpoint the exact time of Passover story, with not much success, especially as it was carried verbally and was only written many many years later. It is equivalent to us writing a story about something we overheard from the Middle Ages.
The Pagan ritual:
Passover, a very old ritual; seems to have originated as an act to deflect evil influences or bad luck.
It was done to ensure the protection of a family home from demonic forces. (Nazar)
As an agricultural and seasonal feast, it commences on the 15th of the Hebrew month of Nisan and is a spring festival. It is connected to the offering of the first-fruits; barley, the first grain to ripen and to be harvested.
Only at a later date, it seems that the Exodus became the main narrative of the story; oppression at the hands of God.
What is the Sod (secret), the Inner meaning?
So let us not dwell on the stories but look for the inner meaning, using the astrology Vedic knowledge;
During this Passover we have a beautiful full moon in Chitra Nakshatra, symbolizing inner wisdom, truth and clarity.
Chitra is the shining diamond, a jewel created under enormous pressure and heat.
This Chitra full moon will bestow solutions to problems and give insights.
The Vedic-
Vedic tradition celebrates Lorn Hanuman’s birth, at the same time.
Hanuman, the monkey God, by his devotion to something greater than him, holds infinite strength and courage. His whole life is devoted to serving others. Selfless service.
There are other astrological combinations happening as well, challenging us and changing the world as we see it. The guru planet, Jupiter, is asking us to change our beliefs and step up for transformation, to be the force of change.
The Now-
If we take the current state of civilization due to COVID-19 or we look at the Israelites passage from slavery to freedom we can relate it to a creation of a diamond. We are all under great pressure, and heat. We are being pushed to transform to something else, something unknown to us. It is bringing up fear and anxiety within us because of a strong sense of uncertainty.
It is also manifesting around us as government oppression. We feel that the utter definition of freedom is being changed by an external force and not by our own free will.
However, through challenges we scale, through the intense heat we transform, into a polished diamond. Heartbreaking may it be but we are still growing.
It’s during these hours that we must rise to the light.
It is during these times that service and selfless behaviour is required.
The courage rises from the act; not the act rises from the courage.
Become the new-
Moses, living as a nomad in the desert, had to step up and face his demons, (his own adopting brother) in order to save the Israelites. His service and courage came to him after he accepted his rule fully, not before.
Moses and Hanuman, great military leaders, faced immense challenges. By believing in something bigger than them, by devoting themselves to others fully, their power arose.
The new united Collective-
We are encouraged to act the same during this emergency.
It is not a time to hate, blame or point fingers; it is time to be responsible, brave.
Serve others and ourselves, connect to the divine. It may be God, Hanuman, Jupiter or Buddha. Pray, meditate, serve, and stay healthy.
